Lahontan Community Foundation

BACKGROUND
For more than two decades, the Lahontan Community Foundation (LCF) has brought neighbors together in support of the broader community we are fortunate to call home. Through the generosity of Lahontan members, LCF has provided meaningful grants to nonprofit organizations across a wide range of areas, including health and human services, education and youth development, environmental stewardship, recreation, animal welfare, arts and culture, and civic life.

These grants make a tangible difference—helping ensure seniors have access to nutritious food, children benefit from mentoring and tutoring, mental health services remain available, trails are built and maintained, veterinary care is accessible, individuals with disabilities receive essential services, and young people experience the enrichment of music and the outdoors.

MISSION

Our mission is to bring the Lahontan community together in a spirit of connection and generosity—creating opportunities to enjoy one another while raising funds to support local nonprofit organizations that are making a lasting impact in the Truckee–North Tahoe region.

DECADES OF GIVING
Since its founding in 2002, LCF has raised more than $3.42 million to support the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe communities.

The LCF Community Cup, held each August, is our signature fundraising event. What began as a small golf tournament has grown into a cherished annual gathering featuring a live auction, family-style dinner, and an evening of dancing under the stars. Proceeds from this and other LCF initiatives help ensure that vital community services remain accessible to those who need them most.

To register or sponsor the Community Cup, or become part of the Founders Circle, visit LCF Community Cup.

The Lahontan Community Foundation Fund is held at the Tahoe Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the entire Tahoe region. All contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law (Tax ID #88-0362053).
