Camp Lahontan 530.550.2430  Camp Lahontan, our family recreation and activity center, is a magical place in a magnificent forest setting with five acres of childhood dreams-in-the-making along the picturesque shores of Gooseneck Reservoir.  For adherents of outdoor sports and games, there are tennis, sand volleyball, badminton, and basketball courts.  Traditionalists can head for the shuffleboard area, clay tennis courts or try their hand at horseshoe pitching.  Swimmers of all ages are well served with a full-size swimming pool, children's splash pool, lap pool, and jetted spa.  Locker rooms with showers are available in the Camp Pavilion.   The Pavilion area is set up to keep everyone thoroughly entertained with all kinds of arts and crafts, games, childrens programs, and family events.  Even the very youngest family members have their own special space in our children's playground.  The picnic and barbeque areas are the perfect places to relax after enjoying a summer day of mountain biking or hiking on the adjacent trails.   Summer Kids Programs Cubs Camp. Designed for children 3 to 5 years old. Our littlest campers will participate in an age appropriate line-up of arts & crafts, hiking, swimming, tumbling, tennis, and cooperative games. Cubs Camp Extension. Designed especially for 4 and 5 year olds who want a little more. Campers will spend the afternoon enjoying age appropriate story time, arts & crafts, games, and swim & tennis instruction. This camp will aid in preparing the children for Fun in the Sun Camp. Fun in the Sun Camp. Designed for children 6 to 12 years old. Campers will swim, play tennis, golf and hike as well as enjoy a wide variety of arts & crafts, games, sports, and nature activities. Each day, activities are designed around an overall theme. Sports Excursion. Designed for children 8 to 14 years old who desire a little more. As an extension of the Sports Camp, campers will travel off-site to experience all the adventures Lake Tahoe has to offer. Campers will raft the Truckee river, horseback trail ride, swim and hike at Donner Lake, Parasail on Lake Tahoe, and mountain bike at Nortstar. Craft Corner. Want to make a craft but don't feel like going to Camp? Stop by the Craft Corner and stay awhile. Each session will be designed around a new craft to make. Kids Nite Out. Designed for children 1 to 12 years old. An evening at Camp Lahontan includes dinner, camp fires, movies, games, and crafts. Kids Overnite. Designed for children 6 years and older. Along with the regular Kids Nite Out activities, children will 'set up camp' for a slumber party at Camp Lahontan. Please bring sleeping bags, pillows, warm pajamas and a toothbrush. Summer Family Events Fourth of July. Celebrate our country's independence with an all-American barbeque shared with family and friends. During the day, children will enjoy making homemade ice cream, arts & crafts, bobbing for apples, and carnival games. The can also participate in the Camp Lahontan Fourth of July Parade. Concerts in the Park. Join us for a relaxing evening listening to great live music under the beautiful Sierra sky.  The snack bar will remain open and provide delectable picnic style family dinners.  All you need to bring is a blanket and chair! Outdoor Movie Night.  Enjoy your favorite family movies on the big screen on our gorgeous summer nights!  Bring a blanket or chair and your favorite movie snack. Labor Day Kids Karnival. Families are invited to the Camp on Labor Day Sunday to participate in an afternoon filled with Karnival games, face painters, magicians, and other festivities.
